Narrative Bio Of Dr. Jason Shapiro

Born in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Shapiro moved to South Florida with his family where he resided in Hollywood, Florida, becoming a U.S. citizen. After graduating from high school, Dr. Shapiro attended Boston University. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree at BU, he attended Touro College in Long Island, New York, where he completed a Masters in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Shapiro then attended medical school at the Technion Faculty of Medicine in Israel. After receiving his Medical Degree (MD) at Technion, Dr. Shapiro pursued a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He then became board certified in Internal Medicine, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Keenly interested in heart disease, Dr. Shapiro completed a one-year fellowship in cardiac pacing where he trained to surgically implant pacemakers and defibrillators under the direction of the renowned Dr. Victor Parsonnet at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Shapiro then went into private practice where he specialized in hospital based Internal Medicine. In addition to taking care of acutely ill patients admitted to the hospital, he was also a teaching attending physician to medical residents and medical students.

After 4 years of private practice, Dr. Shapiro became very interested in the new, burgeoning field of aesthetic medicine, at which time he began to pursue a career in minimally invasive aesthetic and cosmetic medicine, with particular focus on body sculpting with laser-assisted lipolysis.

Dr. Shapiro holds medical licenses in Florida, New York, and New Jersey. He is also a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and is currently waiting to be accepted into the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Shapiro is preparing to open his own practice in aesthetic medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He currently resides in Tribeca in New York City, where he is currently seeking to open a second office in aesthetic medicine.
